Is the States Awake?  I have a  breathing in that one day the States will be the  pipe   trick the  ambitioners dreamed. This is the core message in Langston Hughes Let the States be America Again. The text  pleads that from day one the dream of America was just a dream and never became a reality. The  generator feels the need to talk about this because America is his   heavy residence. He is an African American male living in America in 1935. When the founding fathers set out, they were searching for a home where everyone is equal and free, Hughes argues that the millions of Americans living on relief   atomic number 18  non free; working hard to live paycheck, to paycheck is not free. The  generator paints wonderful patriotic images of America to make the   reader question if the dream for America was for America. He uses lines such as But opportunity is real, and life is free, Equality is in the   cracking we breathe, which makes the reader question the idea of opportunity for all   .   When Hughes states I am the poor white, fooled and pushed apart, I am the Negro   heraldic bearing slaverys scars. I am the red man  driven from the  estate of the realm these images are very vivid. They intend to  pull out at the heartstring of  whatever reader with a conscience, as we are forced to  recommend some of the Atrocities that America has seen.

 He speaks of the  license and equality America was  supposititious to be built on,  but has never had. The author uses rhetorical questions to cause the reader to  interruption and  imagine, for example, The free? Who  give tongue to free? He gives us a chance    to  phone about our current state of freedom!    in America. He continues to question our freedom  epoch giving us his opinion, not me says Hughes answering his own question. The author continues to show his opinion by continuously repeating America was never America to me.   By using this repetition, Hughes gives many ideas to think about, in the beginning of the poem, the  reiterate phrase let it be tells the reader right  off that America was never what it was supposed to be.
